This article only applies to our Travel Insurance. If you’re unsure about which policy you have, please refer to this article.
For single and annual multi-trip travel policies, the excess level is fixed and determined by the package you chose when setting up your policy. Because of this, it's not something that can be changed independently.
The excess amount on the policy is applied to each incident on the trip, so if you make a claim for more than one incident, for example if your baggage is lost and you have a medical emergency - it would be considered two incidents and you would pay the relevant excess for each claim.
The excess amount applies to each person named on your policy with a maximum of two excess amounts for each incident. For example, if you make a successful claim covering three insured persons and the excess is £75, we will only deduct £150 (£75 multiplied by two) from your claim settlement. If we provide a replacement item rather than cash settlement, you will need to pay us the excess amount
Any sections in the policy document marked with an asterisk (*) means no excess is applicable.
If you already have a policy with us you can find all the information about your excess in your policy document through the My Account section of our website.
