PaymentShield consider a property to be unoccupied if the home isn’t lived in by you or anyone named on the policy for more than 60 consecutive days. Visits or occasional overnight stays don’t represent a break in this period.
This period starts from the first day the property is unoccupied, even if that’s before the start date of the policy.
If you have a Landlord Insurance policy and your property is unoccupied for more than 30 consecutive days, you’ll need to call Uinsure directly on the following number: 0330 102 6047 to let them know.
The property is considered to be unoccupied when it is not lived in by a tenant. Unoccupancy is considered to start from the date the last tenant vacated the property, which may pre-date the start date of the policy.
